Mary Ann is an internationally recognized consultant, speaker, seminar leader, executive coach and curriculum designer, who for the last 30 years has been assisting clients across the world to clarify their vision, expand their leadership capacity, communicate authentically and tap their individual and collective wisdom to achieve extraordinary results.
Specializing in the fields of leadership, communication and managing difficult conversations, Mary Ann has worked with thousands of people worldwide.
As a consultant with Vantage Partners and Triad Consulting Group for over nine years, she specialized in the Harvard Law School research and best practices in Negotiation and Difficult Conversations, conducting courses for a variety of corporate clients including Honda, HP, Xilinx, Goldman Sachs, Genentech, CIBC, BP, Conoco Phillips, throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.
As an executive coach and facilitator, she works with senior leaders and executive teams to increase their capacity to communicate authentically and effectively, while forging strong alliances. Her work includes designing and conducting off site meetings for senior advisory teams.
Mary Ann is a member of the Creating We Institute, a thought leadership collective that provides research and education for leaders and executive teams in the application of leading edge neuroscience to tap their innate wisdom and expertise enhancing communication and creative collaboration.
She is currently working as part of the design and implementation team for the C-IQ Conversational Intelligence Certification Program with Judith Glaser.
Ms. Somerville developed and delivered programs for Americorps volunteers, the Executive Board of the 4-H National Council and the Drucker Foundation. She also created and facilitated the Young Masters Initiative at Saatchi Gallery in London, a month long program for teens at risk utilizing the arts to teach leadership, accountability and creative collaboration.
She served as Director of Training with Insight Seminars for many years designing and delivering presentation and communication skill training for facilitators and coaches in Europe, South America, the USA, Canada and Australia and is currently developing curriculum and delivering programs for this company. She also served as the one of the two Managing Directors of Insight East Coast, running six cities when Insight was founded.
Mary Ann holds a B.A. in Psychology, a Masters in Theology and a Master Coaching Certification from the Behavioral Coaching Institute, ICC.
She is Certified in Conversational Intelligence and served as a co-leader of the Peer Coach International Facilitator Team for the first ever C-IQ Certification in 2016. She also holds a Master Certification in NLP and Coaching Certification in Heart Math.
She lives in Santa Barbara where she enjoys the mountains and the sea.
