Martha Simpson

CIQ Certified Coach

A CEO in her late 30s, Martha understands the challenges of leading an organisation. She has 20 years of experience in leading organisations and senior teams. In the 9 years since Martha launched Martha Simpson Coaching and the 6 years as the Founder Director of Harvey McMillan Associates Ltd, she has worked with organisations across all sectors to develop and implement strategy, lead change, and shift culture.

She has led her team to deliver short and longer term effective Leadership Development projects with CEOs and their senior team. Her primary work is in coaching CEOs/MDs and senior leaders to maximise performance, taking one organisation from bottom of its group performance table to the top.

She has coached senior people across Public, Private and Not for Profit sectors. Her client base includes NHS Scotland; Local Authorities; Universities; Fast growth companies; established businesses, and international Not For Profit organisations. She also works with a small number of private clients seeking personal and professional growth.

Coaching is at the heart of what she does, always striving for progression and Delivering Results through Developing People. She has a specific interest in Women Leaders, and has worked with a number to reach MD/Senior roles.

Martha offers neutral objectivity and supportive challenge to clients. She sees coaching as an action focussed partnership that acts as a catalyst for results. She recognises that clients work and live in a ‘context’.

Her approach is transformational. Martha is comfortable working both face to face and on the telephone/by video link. She believes that, with support, the client is the expert on the best course of action, and sees herself as the expert on the coaching process and goal achievement and change/transformation.

As an NLP Practitioner she brings this additional skill to her coaching. She is also aware of the power and impact of conflict and as a qualified mediator brings understanding to the impact of conflict at work.

Her belief that “Everything happens through conversations” is the driver for her interest in improving the Conversational Intelligence of her clients and client organisations, and has been introducing clients to Judith’s work for two years. Martha’s passion is facilitating dynamic, transformational and long term sustainable change for the individuals, teams and organisations she chooses to work with.

She combines her expertise in C-IQ, EQ, facilitating conversations on tough subjects and skilful coaching with her significant experience as a leader, to affect lasting change for her clients and client organisations.

As one client puts it: “Everyone should have a Martha!” (Ailsa Wallace); and a slightly longer quote from an Airport MD and previous client: “I feel privileged to have had the opportunity of working with Martha. Her detailed and targeted challenges have enabled me to focus on specific priority areas. I heartily recommend her as a skilful coach who displays high levels of professional integrity and credibility, and delivers results.”
