I like the concept of ‘Ubuntu’. It is a traditional African idea that comes from the Zulu and Xhola languages and can be loosely translated as ‘humanity towards others’. Ubuntu holds sacred the virtues that maintain harmony and the spirit of sharing among the members of society. There is a constant awareness that a person’s actions today are a reflection on the past, and will radiate far-reaching impact on the future.
“Ubuntu….it is to say ‘My humanity is caught up, is inextricably bound up, in what is yours.”….We say, “A person is a person through other persons.”…A person is a person with Ubuntu is open and available to others, affirming of others, does not feel threatened that others are able and good, for he or she has a proper self-assurance that comes from knowing that he or she belongs in a greater whole and is diminished when others are humiliated or diminished.” – Archbishop Desmond Tutu, 1999.
I hope to be able to help others find their true North through life coaching. I have also coined the concept ‘Shinelogy’ which I see as a discipline to help your inner self shine through, using only the most authentic and natural way. It is everything about living, reflecting and aspiring.
