I am currently self employed as Director of Rockmount Business Solutions providing a full range of Management Services including Coaching, Conflict Coaching, Mentoring, Supervision of Coaches,Project Management, Training, Interview Preparation including Competency Based Interviewing with a 95% + success rate to date, Leadership & Personal Development. I am experienced in all areas of management including training and development.
I have a strong knowledge of the Health Service in Ireland (HSE) with over 30 years’ experience working at Community, Hospital and Corporate Level.
My initial training has been in Conflict Coaching in 2008, my interests in coaching developed through witnessing the changes in individuals, I then trained in Business & Executive Coaching to broaden and deepen my coaching skills. In my role of Change Manager I helped establish the Positive Working Group and was the lead trainer across Dublin North East.
In my coaching sessions I typically draw on all of my skill set and background in HR and organisation knowledge and experience when engaging with clients/groups/teams. As an ICF ACC accredited coach I have agreed competencies which guide me as coach in the session including ethical considerations. The main focus is the organisational focus, the development of the individual’s stated goals/KPIs/growth and development, aligned to the organisational role.
My skills in conflict coaching enable me to work with individuals and groups experiencing conflict, often, conflict comes up in general coaching conversations in some form or other. My studies and experience have enabled me to develop to a high standard in my coaching and supervision of coaches, and results and feedback from clients confirm this.
When working in the HSE, I founded and set up the HSE Dublin North East Coaching Network to facilitate coaches to work towards their International Coaching Federation Accreditation. I have since provided discussion groups to enable the coaches to sit for their Coach Knowledge Assessment with ICF during 2014. I began the business of creating a coaching culture in HSE DNE through presentations, face-to-face meetings with individual senior managers and teams. I created broadcasts to staff outlining the benefits of coaching and its confidential nature. Coaches from other areas sought coaching experience and I was able to facilitate and match coaches.
I am a trained investigator and have been a lead investigator on a number of work-related investigations. I was HR Lead for Louth on Performance Management working closely with all Heads of Departments and Nursing. I have experience as Hospital Administrator for Louth County Hospital for 5 years this included day to day Operations Manager of 500 + staff and tripartite management with Consultants & Director of Nursing on Service Planning & Delivery and Transformation.
I also organised the Mentoring Programme. This included a comprehensive evaluation of the Mentoring Programme with Mentors and Participant Mentees. I also screened staff as to their suitability for coaching as in some instances what was required was links to other supports within HR.
